Larbert U-15's Start As They Mean To Go On

Larbert High 8 - Denny High 2
(30th September 2015)

A glittering 'ashy' saw LHS U-15's pick up 3 points on their first home game of the season

Larbert High School prove a point against Denny at Larbert with an 8-2 win to get off to the perfect start in their league campaign.
Larbert got off to a good start with a loose ball picked up by Conor Gamble just inside his own half and switched out to James Maxwell who put it just over. Conor then put in for a good cross for a good header from Jamie Forrester. A couple more chances came before they got the break through from Conor Gamble assisted by James Maxwell. The second goal came from James thanks to a good through ball by Conor Gamble. At half time it was all Larbert, the team were dominating and Denny rarely threatened.

James Maxwell got his second soon after the break from running down the line and cutting in from the left and slotting it past Robbie Lyall the Denny keeper.

Jamie Forrester then found himself on the bye-line cutting the ball back for Conor Gamble’s second. Denny got a goal back thanks to a mistake from Jordan Colley. The Larbert keeper tried to catch the ball from a corner but inadvertently hit it into his own net. The hat-trick hero James Maxwell got his 3rd after Cammey Dick came off the bench to play him through one on one with the keeper for an easy finish. James was our Man of the Match thanks to an outstanding hat-trick and individual performance.
Jack Donaldson got the 6th goal of the game with a shot from the edge of the box into the top corner.  Mckenzie Cranston got the 7th when he managed to run through the defence and chipped the keeper. Denny got another consolation goal with a powerful shot from the edge of the box straight past Jordan in the goal. Mckenzie Cranston managed to use his skill to get past 4 defenders and play it across the box with Jamie Forrester collected the ball cutting inside and hitting a rocket into the bottom corner to finish the game 8-2.

It was a better second half for Larbert but overall a poor performance from Denny High, Larbert will undoubtedly face bigger challenges along the way but are looking strong after their first home game of the season.

Erin Kerr thinks Honey's Moves are Pretty Sweet..!!

An exciting opportunity was held on the 19th of October for all Larbert High School dancers as we had 3 guest teachers from NRG performers, Scottish Ballet and Urbaniks.

A High Energy Dance for the S3 SoD Pupils led by Honey from Urbaniks dance

The S1 pupils were working with Amanda from Central Scottish Ballet School (CSBS)and were working on an emotional lyrical piece.  The S2 Pupils were working with Romy from NRG performers creating a commercial and jazz piece. Finally the S3 pupils were working with Honey from Urbaniks.

Honey teaches for Urbaniks and is currently World, British, and Scottish hip-hop champion which is an amazing achievement. The dance she taught us was a complex upbeat dance which was very sassy. Included in the dance were lots of turns, floor work, sassy walks and jumps. The song that we danced to was was a fast dance track by Nicki Minaj.

Honey Show our LHS Dancers how it's done

During the day I along with the rest of the S3 school of dance worked with with Honey and I thought she was amazing! The day went really well,I really enjoyed myself and learnt a lot of new technique and performance stratagies.
